Organic Cotton
Conventional cotton production uses more chemicals per unit area than any other crop and accounts for approximately 25% of the world's pesticides. Organic cotton is grown without pesticides and the seeds are not genetically modified. Today the word "organic" is often used loosely as a marketing handle. When Goldiehome uses the term we mean pesticide-free. Our cotton is certified by third party certification organizations: SKAL and GOTS.
Dyes
We discovered through our research that all natural vegetables dyes fade over time. We do not want to produce a luxury product with a limited life span, so we opted for conventional dying methods. We feel we've made the best choices possible. Although a number of chemicals are used in the dying/ finishing process, we only use chemicals and processes that are approved by certifying organizations in both Europe and India. As cleaner methods are tested and become available we will be sure to switch over.
